Natasha Prives: I am often asked how do I know all of this stuff and what inspired me to formulate and design my own body care and bath products. My personal interest came in the late sixties when I was a child growing up in the Ukraine. In those days, most medicine was not available at the drugstore. My father worshipped nature and what it had to offer and he believed he could formulate his own magical remedies that would surpass the benefits of those already available. I remember a lot of glass jars with different mixes and herbal extracts, lots of nature walks and talks about plants, berries and roots. We read many books together about nature’s gifts to us.
After a long three years of training in the late seventies, I got my diploma in esthetics, which included learning how to make my own cosmetics and skin care products. Back then we couldn’t phone suppliers and order our products because they didn’t exist. Instead we were given basic raw materials and the rest was up to us. In the early eighties I immigrated to Canada. Being hypnotized and overwhelmed by cosmetics and skin care products available in Canada, I totally ignored everything I knew about nature and allowed myself to be caught up in the frenzied search for success and achievement.
This continued until I had my first child, who had severe eczema, and my second child, who was allergic to milk and soy products. I was determined to find the root of the problem and to make changes in my lifestyle, diet and outlook. I decided to re-examine what I knew about alternate modalities and natural remedies. Along the way I learned about the benefits of aromatherapy which come from natural, living and growing plant organisms. So here I am like my father, but this time with my own jars and potions.
The subject of natural body care has never been more timely, nor more controversial. Desire for products made from natural ingredients is foremost in consumer consciousness. At Vada we believe that natural skincare products, like natural foods and natural healing modalities that have gathered momentum in the past few decades, will improve our health, beauty and well-being in the long term.
Vada has perfected a complete line of facial care products which are effective, natural and simple. Consumers will be able to avoid synthetic chemicals, skin irritants and sensitizers present in many off-the-shelf cosmetic products. Consumers can choose to spend their money not on packaging, but on valuable, nutritious ingredients for the health and beauty of their skin. Our products are cruelty-free and biodegradable, causing no harm to the environment or other living beings.
We use nutritious food grade materials, cold-pressed plant oils, floral waters, bioactive herbal extracts, fruits and vegetables, essential oils and vitamins.
